What is Myofascial Release Therapy?
Your fascia is the connective tissue that's key to lasting pain relief
Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, organs, and bones throughout your entire body.
Think of fascia as a stretchy casing, or three-dimensional web that wraps around every single structure in your body. Without it, we'd be more like a jellyfish than a human — just loose floating parts.
When your fascia is healthy, this tissue is supple, fluid, and viscous. It allows your body to move freely.
But when this system becomes restricted, everything it connects to is affected.
How fascia restrictions develop and affect your body
When fascia becomes restricted from overuse, injury, or surgery, it thickens – like a sweater that's been in the dryer too long.
Instead of remaining fluid and viscous as it should be, it becomes dehydrated, almost like dried glue. It limits your movement, causing pain and impinging nerves.
This hardened fascia acts like a casing around muscles, limiting their ability to function properly.
The truth is, these restrictions not only cause pain in one area — they create a drag-like effect throughout your entire body, pulling your structure out of alignment and creating compensation patterns that can lead to seemingly unrelated symptoms elsewhere in your body.
“I went to Brandon with high hopes and was not disappointed!”
“After being diagnosed with 4 herniated disks in my neck and two in my back I decided drugs and surgery were my LAST option.
I was in extreme pain from January to MidMarch when I started seeing a Chiropractor. But felt it wasn’t enough.
I saw Brandon twice the first week and what no one else could do, he did.
I recommend him to everyone.”

How Myofascial Release Therapy is Different
-
Treatment focuses on the whole body as an interconnected system
-
No lotions are used
-
Sessions involve sustained, focused pressure rather than rhythmic movements
-
The goal is to provide relief by addressing the cause of pain, not just the symptoms
I use a hands-on approach that involves gently sinking into your tissue and meeting it at the barrier, then waiting for it to soften rather than forcing through.
This gives your body time to respond and release naturally.
What happens in your first Myofascial Release treatment session?
Your first visit begins with a health history review and conversation about your goals. Then I'll conduct a structural assessment while you're standing in comfortable activewear to identify areas that might be contributing to your pain or limitations.
In the treatment room, you'll lie comfortably on the table while I use gentle, sustained pressure to sink into areas of restriction.
Unlike traditional massage, there's no lotion or oil — this allows me to connect directly with your skin and fascial system beneath so I can feel exactly what's happening in your body.
Throughout the session, I'll check in with you about pressure and comfort. You're always in control, and feedback helps me tailor the treatment specifically to your needs.
Many clients experience significant relief even after their first session, along with a deep sense of relaxation and improved movement.

Experience more progress, sooner, with an immersion series
Many clients notice improvements after just one session. That's possible for you too!
But the most significant, lasting transformations are realized through an immersive approach.
Think of your body's healing like digging a hole — if you dig a little and then wait two weeks before digging again, the dirt naturally falls back in. While you're making progress with the fascia, it's important to build on that progress before it begins to return to its previous pattern.
After your first session, you’ll likely feel noticeably better, but fascia is naturally elastic.
That’s why your improvement might begin to edge back — not because the treatment didn't work, but because your body needs more consistent work to fully release all the layers and hold the progress we've made.
The most significant, lasting transformations come when sessions are scheduled closer together
This creates a compounding effect that allows for:
Faster progress towards your goals
More profound and longer-lasting results
Better value from your investment in healing
For example, if you spread 12 sessions over 12 months, you're essentially maintaining your current state.
But if you concentrate half those sessions into a few weeks, each treatment builds directly on the progress of the last, creating dramatic transformation.
“Each session in the shortened timeframe allowed access to deeper tissue.”
“Brandon has addressed several acute issues for me in the last few years.
Most recently, I did several sessions with him over a 3 week period.
I found it very therapeutic as it seemed each session in the shortened timeframe allowed access to deeper tissue.
It was a wonderful experience that I highly recommend.”

What should I wear to my session?
For the most effective treatment, wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows access to skin. Sports bras and shorts for women, and shorts for men work great.
Don't worry though — I'll always work with whatever you feel most comfortable in. Your comfort and sense of safety are what matter most to me.
Is myofascial release therapy painful?
Most of MFR therapy feels very gentle. There can sometimes be what I call a ‘good hurt’, but it’s nothing like deep tissue massage — it’s a sensation of productive release rather than pain.
I constantly check in and adjust pressure according to your feedback. You are always in control of the session.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies for each person and condition. Most clients experience noticeable improvement after just one session, but lasting change typically requires a series of treatments. After your first session, we'll revisit your goals and discuss what timeline might work best for your specific needs.
Is MFR covered by insurance?
You’re welcome to use your HSA card, and my services may be eligible for itemization on your tax return under health expenses. I'm happy to provide receipts for your records.
